I learned to use GIMP 2.0 on my own and started making book covers with it. I changed to the 2.10 version and have been unable to produce a decent cover since. I have now downloaded the 2.8 version and am so happy to see the normal toolbox and filters! I thought I would never make another cover! The 2.10 version must be for the pros, I recommend 2.8.
The ExpressPCB software is very easy to use. My boards turned out great. Although they do not offer phone support, the customer service Jessica provided to me through email was top notch! Thank you! Highly recommended!
This software is non-free (in terms of the definition of free software, not in terms of freeware) unlike, for example, Foxit Reader. It loads somewhat slower. It needs the reader_sl.exe service module to start-up faster, so that's the first sign of typical Adobe bloatware.
It is the compatible standard with most .PDF files, it comes with a TTS reader, file security/protection and other neat features lacking in Foxit. If you do not need these features, I recommend you use Foxit Reader instead.

Also this software allows you to find items easy and quicly among all the items even if they are folding.
Its GUI is very friendly and easy to use; the documentation is very complete and is a good guide to provide enough information about the software, its features and how to use them in your mind maps documents. Its website also offers good information and provides contact information to improve or complain about the program.
The installation process is very easy to perform; it requires Java 5 or later because the program is written in Java. Freemind works in almost every platform that runs Java.
